caye caurkel

This is the kind of island that is just hard to leave. I was there for a combined 7 nights and spoke to many people who arrived there 30 years ago and have never left. There are not any great beaches but in Belize, they swim off the docks or in this case at the split, which is a man made break in the island with a broken sea wall to lay out on and to dive off of in to warm crystal clear water. You can also swim up to the bar old bar and drink a beer in the water. I stayed at Tina's hostel right on the water which is full of travelers and a great host of course with a great vibe.

The night life is not great on the island but there are plenty of cool people to hang out with and just chill.

We had a Christmas Eve dinner at the hostel in the front yard in the sand just a few feet from the water under the palm trees decorated with lights and a few ornaments.  Spent Christmas Day on the veranda led by Hans Ringelnutz-the German guitarist and Coco Loco the house dancer.  After losing my shoes I was forced to get a bike to get around and to the split to go swimming.

Belize

No time to write too much right now but I have been on San Pedro Island for the last few days in Belize. It's a really cool place. The people are great. There is less segregation and raciscm here than anywhere I have ever been.. I'm probably heading to another island here tomorrow then to the jungle on the west side of belize and into guatemala. we'll see what happens from there.

Ohhh Mexico...

First of all, I want to congratulate David and Shane or otherwise known as Mr and Mrs Sher. There was a whole lot of "loves"
The wedding was sick with lots of good times and not much sleep. All you can drink for 5 days can dangerous, especially when you´re hanging out with Richard Bernstein and Jenny's crazy ass friends. Good times.

I barely got out of the Royal in Playa Del Carmen after being held at the front desk when they accused me of staying one day longer than I was welcomed.

After finally talking my way out of that place I hopped on a bus and headed to the town of Tulum and found a cabana on the beach for $30 a night. This is probably THE nicest white sand beach that stretches very long and wide and even reached the bar at our place. It´s nice to walk on sand all day and night with out any shoes. Well if I didn't torture myself enough at the wedding, enough, I made sure to really do some damage my first night at the new place. 2 for 1 happy hour from 7-10 every night with the Mexican brothers bartending and playing reggae, funk or whatever else I had on my ipod or anyone else´s. There were tons of travellers there all of who which were having a really hard time leaving this paradise.

On my way to Belize to snorkel in the 2nd largest coral reef in the world.

Chillin with Rohan

I am lucky enough to be hanging out with man Rohan here in Atlanta while his parents are gone.
He is great company and really likes making funny sounds.  And Dylan too.
